There are 2 reasons this error occurs:
- You may trying to upload the entire .zip file folder (the one you downloaded after purchase). It is VERY IMPORTANT that you 1st extract the file folder you downloaded – DO NOT upload a the zipped file. The file folder you downloaded has multiple files within it. Extract and then upload the XML file found within the folder you downloaded and extracted.
- The XML file can not be copy and pasted it has to be directly uploaded as stated in the directions.
Please view directions here for extracting/unzipping files.
From your blog dashboard click on “Settings”
In the 1st section on the settings page you will see where you can add your Blog Title and subtitle.
If you still can not see your blog title go to the “layout” page
In the header area you should see a gadget titled “header” click edit and add your title.
If you do not see “Header” on your layout page simple click “add a gadget” in the header section and choose “header” from the gadget options. Add your title and click save.
There are 2 easy ways to do this:
Option 1:
Go to your “layout” page.
In the header section click “edit”
In the “Blog Description” box enter you subtitle and click save.
Option2:
Go to your “settings” page
Under “Basic” you will see “Description” add or change your subtitle there.
To make your title fit as shown on the preview you may need to enlarge or decrease the font size.
To do this:
- Go to “template” from your dashboard
- Click on the orange button that says “customize”
- Click on “Advanced”
- Find “Blog Title” over on the left and click that
- You will see a preview with a box around your blog title, adjust the font size until it fits how you like it
- Click “Apply to blog”
Same applies for subtitle font just click on “Description Title”

Sometimes the code you used from another designer will “hide” when you install a new template. What you need to do it go through each and every gadget (the items on your Page Layout where you add gadgets like “blog archives” “search” followers”, etc…). Even if they have a title, check them.
To do this:
- Go to “Page Layout” from your dashboard
- Click on every gadget, where there is an “edit” link on that page until you find a whole bunch of meaningless code.
- Once you find it, delete it and your new background should show up!
- Go to “template” from your dashboard
- Click on the orange button that says “customize”
- Click on “Advanced”
- Click on the font you want to change and a color editor will come up
- Choose another color
- Click “Apply to blog”
Here are the font option labels on the editor so that you know what each connects to:
Blog Title: This is the name in your header; you can edit color, font type, and font size here
Description Title: This is the subtitle below your header; you can edit color, font type, and font size here
Gadget Title: This is your sidebar title; you can edit color, font type, and font size here
Post Title Color: This will change the color of your font for your post titles
Post Title: This is for the font size and font type of your post title
First, all templates $30.00 or less should work with the template designer all other templates come with custom font that does not always change with the designer. If you ordered a template for $10.00, $20.00, or $30.00 and the template designer is not working for you try this:
1. Make sure the mobile view of your template is enabled. To do this go to your dashboard and click on “template” next to the live preview of your blog you will see “mobile” with small preview and under that a tool icon. Click the tool icon and make sure it is clicked for “yes”, then click save
2. Re-upload the template you purchased just as you did before. The template HAS to be installed while mobile view is enabled.
3. Test the template designer again, it should work now.
This is typically the cause of your web browser. Here is what you need to do:
1. Log out of Blogger and close all blog pages
2. Clear all cache and cookies in your web browser history files. If you are unsure how to do this please search Google for “how to clear cache for (name of web browser you are using so Firefox, Interest Explorer, Chrome, etc….)”
3. Log back into Blogger
4. Check your blog, your chosen font should now display. If not, go back to the template designer and choose the font again.
Yes, you can change from 2 columns at any time BUT PLEASE NOTE: If you have already uploaded images in blog posts there is a chance that those images will cross over into the sidebar area so you may have to go back through your posts and make the image smaller by clicking on it and choosing a different size option. If your blog is new, this will not be a problem.
To change to 3 columns:
1. Go to “template” from your dashboard
2. Click on the orange button that says “customize”
3. Click on “layout”
4. Under “body layout” choose the layout style you would like, you will see the option for 3 columns as well as many other options
5. Click “apply to blog”
6. In upper left hand corner click on “adjust widths” and then widen your sidebars.
To do this:
1. Go to “template” from your dashboard
2. Click on the orange button that says “customize”
3. Click on “layout”
4. Under “footer layout” choose the layout style you would like
5. Click “apply to blog”
I’m sorry but in order to use your header design on Facebook you will have to order a Facebook cover from us for a small fee. Per our TOU, designs are not to be used on any another site other than that which they were intended for, in this case blog or websites only.
